Thomas Cocolios has been selected as joint winner of the PhD thesis prize in Nuclear Physics

Our former PhD student Thomas Cocolios has been selected as joint winner of the PhD thesis prize in Nuclear Physics, awarded for thesis’s from the period 2009-2011 by the Nuclear Physics Board - on behalf of the Nuclear Physics Division of the European Physical Society. He will receive his award at the 2nd European Nuclear Physics Conference in Bucharest, Romania, September 17 – 21, 2012. His thesis made in the Nuclear Spectroscopy group of the Instituut voor Kern- en Stralingsfysica deals with “Single-particle and collective properties around closed shells probed by in-source laser spectroscopy”. Dr. Thomas Cocolios received also recently the GENCO-Award of the “Nuclear Structure, Astrophysics and Reactions” (NuSTAR) collaboration, GSI, Darmstadt for his PhD thesis.
