Gas purifier

The gas purifier is a MonoTorr Phase II 3000 heated-getter purifer. It applies to noble gases (used in gas catchers) and has a specification of providing a gas with less than 1 ppb of most contaminants.
The gas purifier is mounted with a frame to control the flow from 3 cylinders through it towards the experimental setup. Two are meant for use during an experiment while the third is intended to purge the lines while switching from one of the other two to the next. As the lifetime fo the purifier is inversely proportionnal to the amount of contaminants it has to absorb, it is recommanded to start with a relatively pure gas (typically 99.9999% in LISOL).
This purifier has, amongst other places, been used at GSI for testing one of the first large-scale high-energy gas catchers from ANL.
